Having particular intentions of prayer during a Mass

Eucharistic sacrifice is offered to anybody. The Church allows believers to join this Mass sacrifice in a more intimate way, through a particular intention of prayer, expressed to the celebrant. Intentions of prayer can be expressed for:

  • living people
  • the dead
  • gratefulness for a marriage
  • marriage anniversaries
  • baptisms
  • child birth
  • birthday
  • ill people, recovery, people in trouble
  • particular intentions (it is allowed not to specify it because of discretion)
